    August Heinrich Bast comes to Inowrocław and buys a square with a tavern, which was located in what is now the hotel. He names it BAST, after his own name.

  • 1880-1882

    August Heinrich Bast rebuilds and enlarges the object including the house, the tavern, stable and inn.

  • 1889

    The Inn is acquired by a Construction Association in Inowrocław that finances the construction of a big gastronomic and hotel facility according to the project by Tomasz Pajzderski, in  neo-baroque, ecclectic style (secession).

  • 19.10.1901

    Hotel Bast is opened for Guests.

  • 19.10.1901

    Hotel Bast is opened for Guests.

  • 14.03.1907

    After a preliminary lease, Hotel Bast is bought by Michał and Konstancja Kranz.

  • 1907-1914

    The Hotel is under the annexed territory belonging to Prussia, in its rooms there are meetings and manifestations of political character.

  • 21.11.1912

    In the premises of the hotel there is a protest rally against giving a German name (Hohensalza) to the city.

  • 1928

    After the death of Michał and Konstancja Kranz, the property passes to her children - Helena Szczygłowska (nee Kranz), Antonina and Joanna Bieganowska and Jan Kranz.

  • 1928-1939

    The hotel provides high-quality service, in its rooms there are traditional meetings of political and economin associations.

  • 1928-1939

    Hotel Bast hosts many well-known and prominent people from the world of science, culture, politics and business, such as gen. Władysław Sikorski, Jan Kasprowicz, Stanisław Przybyszewski, Stanisław Starzyński, Janusz Kusociński and others.

    The period of the Nazi occupation contributes to the downfall of the hotel.

    Liberation of Inowrocław. Those who owned the hotel at that time run the hotel respite repressive measures by Stalin until 20 February 1951.

  • 1945 – 1951

    Liberation of Inowrocław. The owners run the hotel despite Stalin era repressions until February 20th , 1951.

  • 20.02.1951

    Minister of Municipal Services decision (unlawful) deprived the rightful owners of the Hotel Bast and changed its name to Hotel Centralny.

    Minister of Municipal Services decision (unlawful) deprived the rightful owners of the Hotel Bast and changed its name to Hotel Centralny.

  • 1951-1990

    The socialist state-centred economy results is the further decline of this magnificent hotel. At that time, lawful owners die: Joanna Bieganowska (1952), Helena Szczygłowska (1972), Włodzimierz Szczygłowski (1988).

    The property was returned to the lawful heir - widow after Włodzimierz Szczygłowski, Urszula Streńska-Szczygłowska. The name Hotel Bast was returned.

    Property returned to the rightful heir - the widow of Włodzimierz Szczygłowski, Urszula Streńska - Szczygłowska. Hotel’s previous name Bast was restored.

    Urszula Streńska - Szczygłowska passes Hotel Bast to her son, Andrzej Szczygłowski and her daughter-in-law, Alicja Siewierska from Kutno.

  • 07.11.1991

    Hotel Bast as a National Cultural Property is listed in the National Register of Monuments.

    After the renovation of the building, by a decision of the Governor of Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship, Hotel Bast was gratnted a cathegory of a three-star hotel.
